Synopsis:
In the future, a meteor crashes into Earth and brings with it a virulent form of life. This virus is known as M34 and attacks humans, turning them into vicious monsters. Most of the human population is wiped out, thus government agencies are formed to fight the virus. One of the groups, NOA, inserts nanomachines into the bodies of its soldiers; these machines allow them to transform and fight off the infected. Unfortunately, the virus mutates and becomes too strong for NOA to handle. Now the fate of the world rests in the hands of 16-year-old girl with the power to defeat the virus.

It is raining in the Tokyo at night. A woman is wandering soaked to the skin. Her name is Kimura Yu. She had a trauma that her parents were killed, and she experienced another tragedy that her reliable councilor, Kanzaki, was killed miserably. The person who suddenly appears in the rain and saves Yu is a detective, Takamizawa Kyosuke.
An officer, Oki, suspects Yu and investigates her persistently. However, consecutive murders occur as if the criminal mocked at him.
In the background of the case Mizuno, the classmate, is seen off and on.
Suffered from the thought that it was her who killed Kanzaki, she is chasing the criminal with the help of Takamizawa. Meanwhile, they’ll find out the criminal of the consecutive murders. Then, the story comes to a shocking end.

For a close-knit foursome of high school friends, life is all about sleeping in class, strawberry milk, and after-class karaoke. However, our unnamed main protagonist is troubled by nightmares of death and disaster. Only when he begins to realize that his memories of people and events are different from those of Tamaki Maiko (named "Tama-chan" by her friends, "Mai-chan" by herself), Chimu and Harusa, his three female friends, does he begin to wonder. Later, when the waking dreams start.... a short moment of him seeing something that noone else sees....an attractive young lady, who stares back at him in amazement from an empty subway station, does he begin to wonder about his sanity.
